In 1936 Hitler purposed to show the world the supremacy of the Arian Race. Jesse Owens, an African American upset Hitler's plans by winning Olympic gold. What is not so well known about Owens, is that he was a devout Christian who was committed to his local church from his earliest years - so much so that he walked 9 miles to attend it, and then walked 9 miles back home -- twice a Sunday! That's a total of around 60kms in a day, each week.
