Some of the profound truths in the Bible are expressed in just three words. The late J.I. Packer, one of the world’s most respected modern theologians, was asked to sum up the gospel message. He did so in just three words: “God saves sinners.” Many of the most eloquent prayers ever uttered have consisted of no more than three words: “Help me Lord”, “Thank You God”, “God save me”, “Please heal her.” One of the greatest royal invitations only consisted of three words: “Come unto Me.” Three words is all it takes to start an exciting journey: “Come and see.” Many of these three words statements, prayers, and invitations, have become divinely precious triplets that have rescued a lost soul, repaired a broken relationship, and replenished the worn-out.
A PRECIOUS WORD TRIPLET THAT RESCUES A LOST SOUL
We can all lose our way. We can succumb to the temptations that allured us but then come to realise we have been sorely deceived when it cost us dearly. The result was shame and guilt that stained our souls and fooled us into thinking that there was no hope. But there is a divinely precious triplet that can lead to the guilt being washed away, the sting of shame being soothed, and pain of regret being educative: God save me.
A PRECIOUS WORD TRIPLET THAT REPAIRS A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP
Life is enriched our soured by our relationships. We get hurt by others. We hurt others. The person who takes great offence is often blind to their offensiveness toward others. This is why it takes great humility to invoke this particular divinely precious triplet. Reader, invoke this precious triplet properly and it can be the catalyst for repairing a broken relationship that soured your life, both with others or God: Please forgive me.
A PRECIOUS WORD TRIPLET THAT REPLENISHES THE WORN-OUT
Reader, are you weary, worn-out, fed-up, ready to give-up? Often times our physical condition is symptomatic of our spiritual condition. When our soul is not being replenished by the inner strength that we are created to experience it can lead to artificial weariness. The record of Scripture reveals people being able to do remarkable physical feats of strength and endurance that was enabled from a spiritual source. There is a divinely precious triplet that can strengthen and replenish weary that is also a prayer: God strengthen me.
DIVINELY PRECIOUS WORD TRIPLETS
Life can become complicated. This can lead us to think that navigating all of life’s challenges is also complicated. But it need not be. This is especially the case with how we care for our spiritual lives. This is why invoking or praying these precious word triplets may seem to you reader to be far too simple to be effective. But try it. See what happens.
